Privacy and cookies
Short version: I use a small amount of tracking to understand which pages help people, and I do not sell your data to anyone. If you would rather not be tracked, there is a one-click way out below.
Last updated 10 August 2026. Nick Burns trades as The Discover Group International Limited, New Zealand.
What I collect, and why
Pages you visit. HubSpot analytics records which pages you look at and where you arrived from. Until you give me your email, this is anonymous - a random ID in a cookie, nothing that names you.
Your details, when you choose to give them. The Growth Scorecard, the fit call booking and the Revenue Clinic checkout all ask for a name and email. That goes into HubSpot so I can send you what you asked for and follow up properly.
Payments. Stripe handles all card details. I never see or store your card number.
Once you give me your email, HubSpot connects it to the anonymous browsing history from that same browser. So I may be able to see which pages you read before you got in touch. I mention this because most sites do it and almost none say so.
The cookies this site sets
- hubspotutk - the anonymous visitor ID described above. Six months.
- __hstc, __hssc, __hssrc - HubSpot session and source tracking, so I can tell a LinkedIn visit from a Google one.
- Stripe cookies - only on the checkout pages, for fraud prevention.
- Calendly cookies - only when the booking widget loads.
No advertising cookies. No Google Analytics. No Facebook pixel. Nothing is shared with advertisers, because I do not run ads.
How to opt out
Turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser and HubSpot will stop tracking you here. Blocking third-party scripts, or using private browsing, does the same thing. Nothing on the site breaks if you do - the Scorecard and the checkout still work.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email nick@nickburns.nz and I will action it within 20 working days. There is no charge and you do not need to give a reason.
If you are in the UK or EU, the same applies to you under UK GDPR and GDPR.
Who else sees your data
Only the tools that make this work: HubSpot (CRM and analytics), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Calendly (bookings) and Netlify (hosting). Each stores data on their own infrastructure, some of it outside New Zealand. I do not sell, rent or trade your details, and I do not add you to anything you did not ask for.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, I will update the date at the top. Questions about any of it, just email me - nick@nickburns.nz.
